Teaching union members call for Ofsted abolition to end ‘reign of terror’

OFSTED inspectors have been accused of a “reign of terror” over teachers and school leaders in England, as a second major teaching union backed a campaign to abolish the schools watchdog reports The Guardian.

Delegates to the NASUWT annual conference voted for a motion describing Ofsted as a “major contributor to the excessive workload and bureaucracy that blights the lives of teachers” and instructed the union to campaign for its abolition and replacement.

Parents call on teachers to do their jobs and educate children.

Ofsted is all about the Government getting their "stats" and not really about educating children. Whenever Ofsted is about to visit, teachers have to prepare for it. They are then not able to educate children as they should. The Government should leave well alone and let teachers do what they do best.......teach.
