FIVE elite gymnasts from Harlow Gymnastics club challenged against topflight gymnasts from all Essex premier clubs at the NDP grade 5 competition in Colchester.

Shining for Harlow, Freya Smith earned a distinction along with the overall first place trophy in the age 10-11 event. Freya placed first on both beam and range & conditioning, in addition to 3^rd on vault and 5^th on floor. Also securing a distinction in the same event, Janelle Campbell won the 5^th place overall rosette after placing 2^nd on both beam and R&C, and 3^rd on floor. Teammate Marci Short achieved a commended 10^th position finish after placing 6^th on floor.  

Millie Smith and Lottie New gained commended 8^th and 9^th place finishes respectively in the age 9 event, after Millie placed 6^th on R&C, and Lottie placed 2^nd on vault.  

Coach Kerrie Hodges said, “All the girls were amazing in a tough field”.
