A HARLOW schoolboy has just won Gold at the England Boxing National Schoolboys Championships.

Regan Whay, aged 12, attends Sir Frederick Gibberd College on Tendring Road.

Despite having only been boxing for nine months, Regan put in a number of class performances to bring home gold for Harlow.

He fought in the 59k Cadet category at the championships in Guildford at the weekend.

Regan Whay (Rayne) beat Bernie Mongon (Ardwick Lads) by a unanimous decision.

Regan’s dedication is highlighted by the fact that he boxes out of the Rayne Boxing Club in Braintree, some 25 miles from Harlow.

You can see Regan’s fight at the 1 hr 35 min point of the film below.

Well done Regan.
