It is set to be Manic at the Harlow Playhouse
Entertainment / Tue 16th May 2023 at 06:43am
WINNER of Best Solo Show at FUSE International 2022, Raina Greifer’s debut solo show Manic explores the themes of bad sex and consent, combining spoken word, puppetry, and comedy to ask whether it is possible to say you were violated without implicating a partner.
When Raina arrives to perform at her spoken word event to see her exes in the audience, all the questions she’s had about her past sexual experiences begin to surface. Through her poetry, she begins to explore questions about bad sex, drunk sex, and the grey areas of consent.
Here’s what audiences and reviewers have to say about Manic: “Raina Greifer’s astonishing moments of word play, startling metaphor and poetic story telling drip and drop throughout, into the dark shadows and frank self-reflection.” ★★★★ (Bath Fringe Hub) “Articulated emotions and experiences in a sensitive and thought-provoking way, really beautifully done.” (Audience) “One of the best things I’ve seen all year. So so so so so fantastic, just a brilliant piece of performance and really made me feel and think a lot” (Audience).
*Please note this is an overissued performance please arrive early to avoid disappointment.
Every Friday and Saturday: Happy Hour 6pm till 7pm. Bar open till 11pm.
