WHAT a Bank Holiday weekend that was! Innovation Multisport (IMS) were super busy at events! Sunday saw RideLondon event happen for the 2nd year going through Essex. Over 25,000 cyclists tackling the 100 mile route.
Members Josh Selton cycled in at 5:07:01
Leanne Stepney & Andy Smith 6:00:41 & 6:00:44, next was Simon Couper 6:22:32 after having three punctures! Garry Orton 7:25:35 and Terasa Holden 8:02:14. Some really fantastic times!! They all did amazingly!
Not only did IMS have competitors, they also had a 30+ team volunteering at the Epping Welfare Hub where cyclists could take a pitstop for maintenance, refuelling or just a rest before they carried on for the next 75 miles. A long but rewarding day for all volunteers!
Bank Holiday Monday saw the yearly Hatfield Broad Oak 10k go ahead on closed roads. It has been going many years and is always well supported by surrounding area clubs as well as local runners.
IMS had over 30 members running, some of which were running with tired legs after cycling 100 miles!
They had nearly 50 members come along in total, to not just take part but to support and volunteer again.
One of the members had this to say…..
” Really proud to be part of a club that nailed so mamy PBs today and is supportive of everyone out on the course, slow or fast, you have a place with Innovation!
Seeing all the pink kit, both on route and along the way providing incredible support is a huge motivator! Thankyou!”
An IMS spokesperson said: “We pride ourselves on encouraging and motivating anyone who joins the club, no matter what their ability”.
