Dear Editor, 

FOR years, politicians in Harlow have promised to regenerate Harlow’s town centre and neighbourhoods. And for years, they have failed.

When the Harlow Conservatives were elected in 2021, we made a promise to the people of Harlow that we would deliver the desperately needed regeneration of Harlow’s town centre.  

In that vein, we put in place the first ever masterplan of the town centre. Working with Robert Halfon MP, we’ve secured £45 million from the Government to deliver three major regeneration schemes in the town centre. We’ve moved from being the smallest landowner in the town centre, to the largest. Taken together with a major announcement this week, this means that we can now deliver that promised regeneration.

That’s why, this week we will announce the single biggest step to finally deliver that regeneration, which has been worked on for eighteen months. This will transform our town – it will mean that once again residents can be proud of their town centre with new shops, bars, restaurants, night life, a live music venue and so much more besides. Our announcement this week will mean that construction work will start this summer.

We will deliver the promise we made to people, and I believe, our major announcement this week will show residents that this is no longer a political promise, but reality.
