Rod Stewart’s writing partner drops in at Dunmow Music Club

Entertainment / Fri 28th Jul 2023 at 02:46pm

DUNMOW Music Club’s guests were treated to a surprise impromptu performance by Robert Hart, lead singer of Manfred Mann’s Earthband and formerly of Bad Company, on Friday night, 21 July.

Robert dropped into the club as he tours from time to time with DMC host Mick Wilson and is also good friends with a band member of Friday’s top billing, Jim Cregan.

Jim is Rod Stewart’s longtime writing partner and music director and played a rare acoustic set showcasing many of the hit songs he’s written over the many years of his extensive music industry career.

With Mick supporting, Robert took to the stage between scheduled acts to perform Manfred Mann’s ‘Davy’s on the road again’ and rock supergroup’s Bad Company’s ‘Feel like makin’ love’, to the delight of the audience.

Dunmow Music Club burst onto the scene in February and has hosted packed audiences since, with guests experiencing an intimate club-style atmosphere and stripped back performances from high quality musicians and singers.

Tickets are sold out for Kiki Dee’s appearance at September’s event as well as for November’s evening with Pete Lincoln, former frontman of The Sweet, but look out for 2024 events at www.dunmowmusicclub.com or follow them on Facebook.
