Have your say on plans for East of Harlow
Lifestyle / Mon 7th Aug 2023 at 10:01am
HARLOW & Gilston Garden Town have teamed up with CitizenLab to give residents a dedicated online engagement platform to comment on HGGT plans over the next 12 months.
And the online partnership kicks off with a consultation on the East of Harlow Masterplanning Guidance SPD.
The aim of the East of Harlow document is to provide guidance for a developer producing a masterplan for the site, which is located to the east of Harlow and is allocated in the Harlow Council Local Plan and Epping Forest District Council Local Plan for a combined total of 3,350 new homes.
The document contains 12 chapters with detailed guidance on topics such as green infrastructure and landscape, connectivity and sustainable movement, layout of schools and local centres and vehicle access.

This is the easiest and quickest way to respond and to help support your response, HGGT partners have put together several questions.
There will also be a series of Q&A sessions, details of which will be made available on the consultation platform later in the consultation period.
Alternatively, you can email your response to [email protected] or send your response to our Freepost address: Freepost HGGT.
Hard copies are available to view at Harlow Civic Offices, Epping Forest Civic Offices, Old Harlow Library and Harlow Central Library during normal opening hours.
The consultation started on (Monday 31 July) and closes at 5pm on Sunday 24th September.
Comments received after this date may not be accepted.
The quality of some of the maps in the download file is so poor it is very difficult to see detail. They do not enlarge clearly. I went to the Civic Center to see the plans, only to be told the display had fallen down a few weeks ago and it has not been replaced. As it is such a significant change to the area and needs to be properly evaluated I have requested a printed copy.I wait in hope.
No point in bothering with this as the consultation is the usual public relations exercise. The powers that be have already decided long ago the outcome, and never bother to take resident's views. They have their own agenda which is all done and dusted.
Plans all ready signed and sealed...consultation s , you don't want to see us or hear us.. truth be told.. your just go a head anyway.
6,000 signatures against the destruction of the river stort valley, 1,000 from Aliance party.. Groups against... stop Harlow north.. Frends of Latton lsland...Green party... Surrounding villages.. IT DID NOT MATTER, HOW IMPORTANT OUR RIVER STORT VALLEY IS, TO ANY OF YOU. So why you want to hear now.
I agree with Kim and Charlie, it's a 'tick box' exercise! No point in complaining, it will all go ahead as planned and be damned to the environment and resources. They go on about climate change but continue to destroy nature in already depleted areas!!! How will our earth repair when it's covered in concrete and tarmac! Ridiculous! No, I'm not an 'activist', just a person with common sense!
