Emotional scenes as Knife Angel arrives in Harlow

A MONTH of activities centred around combatting knife crime was launched on Friday night with the arrival of the Knife Angel.
The opening ceremony (film is below) included speeches by dignitaries and performances but at front and centre was a speech by campaigner and mother, Mel Hopwood, who fought tirelessly to bring the Knife Angel to Harlow.
Mel’s son, Tommy Jones was stabbed to death outside a London pub. The subsequent trial saw the man accused walk free.
Since then, Mel Hopwood has campaigned for justice but has tried to prevent other young people becoming victims of knife crime.
The Knife Angel is a sculpture created by artist Alfie Bradley, composed entirely of knives that have been confiscated from across the UK. The sculpture serves as a powerful reminder of the devastating consequences of knife crime and the need for collective action to address this issue.
You can find more information on the Knife Angel and its tour on the official Knife Angel page.
This type of knife crime is a UK thing, rest of the Europe is not that bad, they should do some research about that and act coz it really alarming that only UK has that issue
All those taking drugs at the weekend, stop if you want there to be less knife crime with our kids. Country lines, kid violence, knives.. all connected. Have a think next time you buy a line of coke.
