Dispersal order in place at Lakeside following concerns regarding car meet

Crime / Sat 16th Sep 2023 at 05:33am

A DISPERSAL order is currently in place around Lakeside, in Thurrock, following concerns relating to a car meet.

We have received a number of calls relating to a car meet in the area, consisting of between 30 and 40 vehicles and a significant number of spectators.

The event has caused disruption in the area and, in order to reduce the risk of further antisocial behaviour in the area, a dispersal order has been put in place.

It covers the area shown in the map, which takes in the Dartford River Crossing to junction 30 of the M25, to the A126 West Thurrock Way to the A1090 and the A1306 and all of West Thurrock.

The order gives officers the power to instruct anyone suspected of causing antisocial behaviour to leave the area and not return within 48 hours.

The order will remain in place until 6am on Sunday 17 September.

Essex police yet again with a heavy handed approach to car meets, how about a different approach, let the meet go ahead, yes deal hard with those that break the law, but also try and engage and earn a bit of trust and respect from those who just want to show their vehicles.

Let them meet, but trap them then crush the cars and send the invoice for crushing them to these disgusting antisocial motorists.
