Dispersal Order in place across Harlow this weekend
Crime / Thu 21st Sep 2023 at 06:27am
A DISPERSAL order will be in force in Harlow this Saturday night and Sunday morning ahead of a planned car cruising event.
This order will remain in place between 6pm Saturday 23 September and 6am Sunday 24 September.
Designed to stop the event before it begins, tackle the associated anti-social behaviour and prevent crime and disorder, the order covers the whole of Harlow.
Acting Inspector Matt Hughes said: “We use these orders in a considered and proportionate way, to make sure they are targeting anti-social behaviour and allowing people to go about their daily lives.
“We will not tolerate dangerous driving in any part of Harlow, and our officers will be out in the community on Saturday evening to make sure drivers are behaving safely and responsibly.”
Why is this classed as anti social behaviour??? Car enthusiasts having a meet, yes there will be a minority of idiots but there's plenty of them using the roads every day, police it and control it, ffs you lots are always putting the kai bosch on things.
Lock em up Crush da cars
Dacid, they are noisy and can be dangerous, roads are not meant to be a racecourse. Can't stand em myself. Shame nowhere away from other road users that they can go tho.

so everyone would prefer these young men and women to not work, drink alcohol, take drugs and rob people to fund all that instead of working and having a hobby modding cars and showing them off
Crush their cars. No point dispersing them when they will come back. Exterminate the problem at source.
How about use that money to fix the potholes everywhere in harlow

"We use these orders in a considered and proportionate way". Pull the other one, please. Honestly its disgusting how car enthusiasts are treated. Yes, there are a small minority of idiots, but that sort of behaviour is usually not tolerated at meets by any responsible organiser. We used to be able to pay and go and drag race up at North Weald like 4 times a year, the moaning biddies at the care home said it was too noisy and had its license refused. Wake up dears, you live next to an airfield... We try to plan meets in carparks after business hours, the moaning residents of Harlow complain its antisocial. If the police actually worked with the car community to provide us with spaces to meet, we wouldn't have to organise secret events last minute on social media to actually meet with likeminded people and express our passion for our hobby.
Yes Charlie Well said! I have a blue bmw 140i m sport and always attend car meets and love them. It's great for kids to see nice cars and how much work invested in them.
