Athletics: Kedge is a ledge at World Aquabike Champs in Spain

HARLOW Running and Tri Club fielded 16 runners at the Vitality London 10k, taking them past some of London’s most famous landmarks, including St Paul’s Cathedral and Big Ben. Martin Westley was first home in 360th place out of 11,784 finishers in 38min 33sec. He was followed by Ryan Smith 410th in a PB time of 39.02, Kevin Smith 577th in 40.34, Tom Beales 669th in 41.12, Lex Ellington 743rd in 41.44, Chris Mella 993rd in 43.20, Jermaine Shand 994th in 43.22, Gail Nicholls 1114th in 54.27, Kerry Pugsley 1181st in 54.51 in her debut at the distance, Rosie Lozeau 1693rd in 57.34(Debut), Luke Pykett 2047th in 48.37(Debut), Claire Clark 3105th in 1.04.47, Dominic Emery 3128th in 52.47, Claire Carter 3219th in 1.05.21 and Lucy Mella-Davies 3639th in 1.07.54(Debut).

      

Opting for a longer distance, Martyn Coulter completed the Bedford Autodrome 20 Mile race, finishing in 12th place out of 64 finishers and 3rd Male Vet 35 in 2hrs 28min 44sec.

Meanwhile, at the Chase The Sun QE Olympic Park 10k Neil Goodgame finished in 15th place out of 156 finishers and 1st Male Vet 45 in 43.16.

Husband and wife Gary and Debbie Mead completed the Cambridge Cambourne 10k with Gary finishing in 149th place out of 249 finishers in 56.34 and Debbie 192nd in 1.03.19.

There were 5k PBs at Harlow parkrun from Tracy Norton finishing in 143rd place out of 226 finishers in 32.19, from Jack Wright at the Gunpowder parkrun at Waltham Abbey finishing in 156th place out of 190 finishers in 35.00 and Bradley Power at Groe parkrun, Powys, finishing in 8th place out of 115 finishers in 21.29.

Louise Kedge competed in the World Aquabike Championships (1500m Swim, 40km bike), at Pontevedra in Spain, finishing 7th in the Female Vet 35 category out 15 finishers in 1hr 51min 15sec. 

At the Hever Castle Standard Triathlon (1500m swim, 40k bike, 10.5k run) in Kent, Michelle Sheridan finished in 329th place out of 445 finishers in 3hrs 34min 09sec, in her debut at the distance.

At the same venue in the Sprint Aquathlon (750m swim, 5k run) Keith Streeter finished in 94th place out of 122 finishers in 47.07 and Gail Nicholls was 100th in 48.46.

The British Triathlon East Region League Final Standings were announced last week. For the 2nd year running HRTC were runners up out of 20 clubs. 
Also 3 members won individual awards in their age groups.
Kerry Mavris came 3rd in the Female Vet category, Gail Nicholls came 1st in the Female Super Vet category and Chris Donnelly was 3rd in the Men’s Vet category.

In a late result from last week at the Ingatestone 5 Mile race Martin Westley, Martyn Coulter and Kirk Crudginggton combined to come 2nd Men’s Team.
