ON FRIDAY, Zak Marks and his team from Kitt Medical visited Passmores Academy and spoke to a number of teachers and staff about their Anaphylaxis Training Course.
A severe and often sudden allergic reaction is called anaphylaxis, which can progress into a life-threatening reaction within minutes. Administration of adrenaline can be lifesaving, although severe reactions can require much more than a single dose of adrenaline.
Anyone can develop an allergy to anything at any time in their lives… in fact, 20% of serious anaphylaxis incidents that occur in schools across the UK happen to children that didn’t know they had any allergies.
We spoke to Zak about their training course and their Anaphylactic kit bag which is proving very popular.
Thank you to Clare Bull of https://www.clarever.co.uk for facilitating interview.
