Crime / Thu 28th Sep 2023 at 07:19am
AS PART of Knife Angell month, the Reverend for St Mary’s at Little Parndon, Jokey Poyntz read out the names of Harlow residents who had lost their lives through either knife or violent crimes.
Jokey said: “Today, we gather here with heavy hearts to remember and pay our respects to those from our beloved Harlow who lost their lives to knife or violent crimes. Each name on this roll call represents not just a statistic but a precious life, a son or daughter, a friend, a loved one.
As we read through this list of names, let us reflect on the impact of these tragedies on our community. Let us remember the families who still grieve, the friends who still mourn, and the futures that were tragically cut short. It is a stark reminder of the importance of working together to create a safer and more compassionate society.
Tommy Jones, Lee Clark, Claire Parish, Beverley Brinkley, Danial Batten, Frank Empson, Phil Lewis, Jenny Macaree, Hassan Mohamed, Sabah Usmani, Hira Shakoor, Maheen Shakoor, Sohaib Shakoor, Muneeb Shakoor, Rayyan Shakoor, Kerry Youngs, Lee Burey, Jimmy Moore, Joe Mitchell, Paul Searing, Reggie Beaston, Arkadiusz Jozwik, Suzanne Brown, Andrew Watt, Mark White, Eystna Blunnie, Baby Rosie Louise, Baby Malik Olayia, Cristian-Marin Patru, Philip Burr, Anthony Farley, Ayodele Osifuwa, Steven Edminson, William Wereham, John Kuczko, Ronald Lowe, Max Richardson.
These names represent a community united in grief but also determined to honour the memories of those we’ve lost by striving for a safer, more peaceful Harlow. Let us use this moment of reflection to renew our commitment to preventing such tragedies in the future.
In their memory, let us pledge to build a Harlow where the names on this roll call are not added year after year. May their lives inspire us to make a difference, to create a safer and more compassionate community for all.
“Thank you, and may those we’ve lost rest in peace”.
Didn't realise so many people from harlow have died as a result of violence, shocking figures for a small town.
London is now awash with knives. knife crime in the capital is up my 16 per cent in a year. Sixteen teenagers have now been killed in 2023. 15-year old girl senselessly stabbed to death in South London yesterday.
My beautiful sister Claire Parrish, brutally stabbed and beaten to death by Mark Golds in 2015. He tried to plead diminished responsibility and failed. Mark Golds did not lose his mind, he lost his temper and control. Sentenced to murder.

Such a sad state of affairs, John kuzcho such a gentle man, I knew John very well, didn't have a bad bone in his body, another fine man Ronald Lowe, grew up with Ron, devastated when I heard, where will it ever end💔
Bruce Downey, trouble is all the politicians are blaming each other, rishi sunaks blaming sadiq Khan and khan's blaming the government for closing down youth clubs etc, there's and old saying things will get worse before they get better but better will never happen.
Ignoring the misspelling of "angel" (despite the word appearing in the photo), was the reverend chosen on the basis of her name? Who's reading the list next year, Giggles McStabbin?
