HARLOW Running and Tri Club members competed in the Southend Classic 10k at the weekend which also doubled as the Essex 10k Championships. Martin Westley led the way in 82nd place out of 1244 finishers in an excellent 38min 32sec. He was followed home by Tom Beales in 147th place in 40.43, Colin Baker 149th in 40.59, Catherine Ridge 204th in 43.09, Sandra Rust 319th in 47.35, Chris Burgess 349th in 47.58, in his debut at the distance, Kerry Mavris 424th in 49.48, Gary Mead 437th in 50.18, Jamie Olsen Ferreira 461st in 50.54, Colin Moody 527th in 52.57, Liz Roberts 835th in 1.01.20, Debbie Mead 869th in 1.02.32, Joanne Mills 989th and 2nd Female Vet 70 to win the Essex Championship Female Vet 70 Silver Medal and Stephen Cozens 1136th in 1.15.02.    

Meanwhile, at the Black Bull 15 Mile Trail Run at Chelmsford Alan Godbold finished in 11th place out of 16 finishers in 3hrs 32min 31sec and Deborah Pomphret was 12th in 3.44.31, both in their debut at the distance.

At the Barr Ellison Hoohaah Wendover Woods Trail 20K Sean Flynn finished in 12th place out of 27 finishers in 2.04.21.

Lex Ellington completed the Abbotts Langley Tough 10k race, finishing in 26th place out of 170 finishers in 44.37. 

At the Manuden 10k Pasquale Pellecchia finished in 34th place out of 49 finishers in 1.01.22.

Kerry Pugsley finished Harlow parkrun in 66th place out of 262 finishers in a PB time of 26.21.
