Harlow’s ten pin bowlers look forward to new season

HARLOW has a long history dating back to the 1960’s of producing very good Tenpin Bowlers, many having played for their country and county. The sport of Tenpin Bowling continues in Harlow to this day.


As a prelude to the start of the Harlow Senior Rollers 2023/2024 Tenpin Bowling season the presentation of trophies for the 2022/2023 season took place at Tenpin’s bowling centre in Harlow.


The league has now been running in Harlow for 24 seasons but recently had to change its roll-off time to 10.00am from the previous time of 2.00pm on Tuesdays.

Twenty-eight bowlers are divided into two divisions. The winner of Division One for the third-year running was Stewart Thompson with 389 points who also took the trophies for the high handicapped game of 268 and high handicapped series of 642. In second place was Jay Roese with 376 points and in third place was Graham Peacher with 350 points.

The ladies high handicapped game and series was won by Jean Taylor with 211 and 597game. New to league bowling this season, Ann Court, picked up the trophies for second place in this category with 206 and 569.

The winner of Division Two was John Ward with 367 points, followed by Paul Chatterton with 350 points and Jim Banner in third place with 346 points.
