Harlow Gymnastics Club prove their mettle at Zinc and Copper challenges

MEDAL winners Genna LeeKara McMahonSummer Dolan and Grace Hoskin shone for Harlow Gymnastics club at the Zinc & Copper Challenge Levels competition, competing against county gymnasts from top-flight Essex clubs. Three further gymnasts from the club were recognised for excellent performances with rosettes awarded, and all competing gymnasts achieved a high standard within their level at the competition held at Colchester School of Gymnastics. 

Competing in the copper 12+ levels event, Genna triumphed with the silver medal on beam and 6th place rosette on bars, finishing in 10th place overall. Kara captured the bronze medal on floor, finishing in 13th place overall. Summer and Graceshared the bronze medal on vault, placing 21st  and 15th respectively overall. In the same event Emily Price took 26th place and Elsie Leverington finished in 29th place overall. 

Despite really tough competition and a couple of unexpected falls that kept Harlow off the podium, the gymnasts put on a good effort in the zinc age 9-10 level. Marci Short secured the 4th place rosette for vault, finishing in 11th place overall. Freya Smith placed 10th overall and shared the 6th place rosette on floor with teammate Janelle Campbell who placed 13th overall. Millie Smith placed 16th overall in the same competition.
