Families flock to Sir Frederick Gibberd College Open Day

HUNDREDS OF parents and prospective pupils came to the Sir Frederick Gibberd College (SFG) open day.
As you may appreciate,, it has been a difficult few months for the school, with their brand new £27 million building on Tendring Road being condemned.
But as they say in the Classics Department. “long is the way and hard that leads up to light” and so one of the first major hurdles was holding an Open Day with a view to looking to September 2024 and beyond.
In many ways this is all about faith in their visionary head, Dee Conlon. In Mrs Conlon we trust said one parent.
The school made a short film showcasing the day.

Very impressive show of solidarity, determination and resilience from SFG staff and pupils at the open day. As the head teacher said in her speech - it isn't about what a package is wrapped in, it's about what is inside. I take my hat off to all of you and as a parent of a child going into 2024 year 7 cohort, I would be more than happy if mu child was offered a place at SFG. The future is bright.
