ON Sunday, Frontiers Ladies travelled to Brentwood to play Hutton Reserves.

The game started with dominance from Frontiers and in the first minute Ella Fobbester had the first chance of the game that unfortunately drifted wide of the far post. Frontiers continued to press Hutton and had a few half chances in the opening 20 mins of the game without coming to anything.

Hutton tested the Frontiers back line with pace and their forward managed to wriggle through on goal but saw her shot saved by the foot of Jill Bartholomew.

Frontiers continued to attack creating a few more chances Ella Fobbester attacked a Tayla Handscomb corner only to see her header fly over the bar.

The Hutton goalkeeper had a couple of comfortable saves to make with the half ending 0-0.

Frontiers knew that they could play better and in the second half and Ella Fobbester and Tayla Handscomb both forced the Hutton Goalkeeper to make two brilliant saves to keep the game at 0-0.

As the game approached the last five mins a ball through from Charley Sheridan found the feet of Tayla Handscomb who calmly slotted the ball past the on rushing goalkeeper to make it 0-1 and seal all three point for the visitors.

Manager Ronnie Yates’ post match comments were: “We didn’t particularly play at our best but the most important thing is we have shown resilience to continue right to the end of the game and manage to grab the three points which is the most important thing”

“Could we have played better? Yes but the main thing is we have ground out a result even when not at our best.

That’s four league wins from four and we have to keep the intensity and expectation to a high standard”
