Eight arrested following warrants to combat burglary and car theft

SEVEN men and a woman have been arrested after warrants were executed at three locations in Harlow following a series of burglaries, robberies and vehicle thefts.
Officers entered houses in Berecroft and Rundells, and a site on Fern Hill, at 6.45am this morning, Wednesday 1 November, under Section 8 of the Police and Criminal Evidence Act.
The eight individuals were arrested on suspicion of offences including conspiracy to burgle, conspiracy to commit robbery, fraud and assisting an offender.
They have been taken to Harlow and Grays police stations for questioning.
Searches at the locations uncovered stolen goods, car keys, mobile phones, weapons and clothing linked to crime scenes.
Chief Inspector Paul Austin, Harlow’s District Commander, said:
“We’ve been investigating a group we believe are involved in multiple burglaries, robberies and vehicle thefts across Harlow in the last three months.
“This morning we had 40 officers involved on the operation from Harlow Community Policing Team and Harlow CID with assistance from our Serious Crime Directorate and the Eastern Region Special Operations Unit.
“We successfully arrested a number of the individuals we were targeting and recovered a significant amount of evidence at the scenes.
“Burglary and robbery are devastating crimes. Having your home invaded or your car stolen from your drive can have a huge impact, and these are offences our team take incredibly seriously.
“There has been concern locally about car crime and burglary, particularly in the Latton Bush area, so hopefully our work will reassure the public that we don’t just investigate these crimes, we’re dedicated to tackling those responsible and bringing them to justice.”
The usual suspects !
Fernhill Lane again, what a surprise. Let’s see if the motorbikes going up and down the cycle track near me stops for a while. Exactly the same as last time Fernhill lane was in the news. Well done for catching them, keep on catching them again and again.

Why is the dog's face not pixelated ? Did not no one think to protect its ID. Poor pooch is probably well upset.
Gilston, East Harlow/Sheering, Latton Priory & Water Lane - All these developments contain provision for more places like 'a site on Fern Hill' - Like a potential noose of criminality round the town.
Why don't Harlow Council shut down the den of thieves at the Fern hill site
I am discusted and ashamed people think they know and judge concerns ofcthe gypsy and traveller community which i think is ironic due to thd fact that no one has any idea about these people that the police are so quick to scandalise and persecution without any sort of justification so all of should not be commenting wen u have ground and everyone is meant to be innocent til proven guilty
The Truth - I didn't even know Fern Hill was a traveller community until you said. But I guess the fact the police have a, raided it as one of three locations and stolen goods found at these places then anyones comments are fair.
Nothing but trouble and expense, police helicopter always over that site at colossal cost not to mention boots on the ground, close it down and move them on.
The truth, Let's say we remove travellers camps from Harlow entirely. Do you think crime would go up, or go down? Be honest now.
Like i said wats rights rights u assuming that that stolen has been removed wen nothing was taken from fern hill so look a bit closer before throwing allegations i try to educate simple minded people clearly you have nothing better than slander innocent people

The Truth - the report literally states they recovered stolen goods, weapons, and clothing linked to crime scenes.
Truth you need to re write all those comments again and SPELL CORRECTLY! There is. no such word such as * u * or * cos * get your spelling correct then come back!
Truth, unfortunately many local people have plenty of knowledge after being brazen victims of your kin via theft, threat of violence or simply intimidation. If you are a law abiding old skool traveller, sort your kin out? It has been going on too long now to play the innocent 'victim' card, especially after overwhelming evidence has been gathered. Explain to them the people that pay for their sustenance via benefits, who's taxes pay for places for them to stay are the same people they are abusing? A dog should not bite the hands that feed them? £640K was spent on that site a few years back, all at the tax payers (their victims) expense, for your kin to trash it all again and carry on making life a misery for their neighbours, why?
Truth, firstly ignore the criticism of your grammar and spelling. Secondly, you can't really deny that Fern Hill appears regularly in connection with criminal activity, as do some family names rumoured to have a connection. So why is this? Is criminal behaviour a necessity because there is no other way of feeding and clothing your families or is it a way of life chosen because it is easier, and perhaps more profitable, than making an honest living despite the risk of prison. Or perhaps, those who would choose a better life are prevented from doing so by those who don't?
The truth. I wasn't suprised that you chose to ignore the correlation between a town having travellers camps and crime statistics, I think most know the answer to question I asked. You asked about insight into what happens and so I'm happy to offer some. My elderly parent lives in a retirement group of bungalows. One day they came home from shopping to see two young men in his lounge and the door to the lounge from the outside had been broken into. My elderly parent screamed get out get out, the two men ran out to a stolen vehicle at the front of the bungalows. Thankfully one of the residents had taken down the reg number. A few days later the police found the vehicle and with still many of the stolen articles in it. It was explained that the gang always stole a vehicle, burgled peoples homes then left the car not far from where they live. If the car was still there several days later then they thought they could now sell the stolen items. Have a guess where most of these vehicles were left? Right at the top of Fernhill Lane. Now, the truth, could you answer my question? If the traveller camps were removed from Harlow, do you think crime would go down, or up?
The comments from their families and friends make you sick and are laughable "Can't keep a good man down" Good men don't thieve from other people and carry weapons. The only reason a tazer might have been needed is if the person was resisting arrest or has a history of violence and or weapons. And weapons and stolen items were recovered so don't play the victim or innocent cards. Typical responses from those involved. It's never their fault is it, always someone else's. There are some lovely travellers in this town and they don't sh*t on their own doorstep. This lot have no respect and no morals. Plus these people have outed themselves on facebook and think they are untouchable!
We really need the local council to look at removing this site at fern hill lane. This has gone on to long. Law abiding people of Harlow getting houses broken into cars and possessions stolen all by usually the same families. Robert Halton mp. What have you got to say on the matter ?
So many people with their inbred small mindedness again attacking Fern Hill...... there are many areas in Harlow that are absolute s*** hole's and I could name them but I wont. If people have such a view, the keyboard warriors who sit at home and hint hate, I would like to see them go public. Why not challenge individuals from the areas you dont like? Oh no, too cowardly. Just carry on sitting in your bedrooms behind your screens......... small town small mindedness!
Sarah Smith, sit down you are embarrassing yourself luv. If you and your family don't like the town. Here's an idea, MOVE OUT and make another towns lives hell. Get some morals and respect and stop sticking up for these people. Sick of the excuses and denial
