Crime / Fri 3rd Nov 2023 at 04:19pm

TWO men have been charged with a total of 11 offences following a series of burglaries and car thefts in Harlow.

Danny Mitchell, 18, of Berecroft, Harlow, has been charged with four counts of burglary, three counts of theft of a motor vehicle, and handling stolen goods.

Sullivan Lee, 22, of Leicester Road, Market Harborough, is charged with two counts of burglary and theft of a motor vehicle.

Both men are due to appear in court today, Friday 3 November.

The pair were arrested after officers executed warrants in the Berecroft, Rundells and Fern Hill areas of the town on Wednesday 1 November.

Five men and a woman who were also arrested as part of the operation have been released on bail.

Chief Inspector Paul Austin, Harlow’s District Commander, said:

“We’ve been investigating individuals we believe are involved in multiple burglaries and vehicle thefts across Harlow in the last three months.

“There has been concern locally about car crime and burglary, particularly in the Latton Bush area, so hopefully our work will reassure the public that we don’t just investigate these crimes, we’re dedicated to tackling those responsible and bringing them to justice.”

Hopefully one of the cases they are investigating is a family friends vehicle broken into and items taken a few months ago. Thankfully he has CCTV and it had full view of the faces of these lowlifes. On reporting it to the Police they were told "we don't come out to those anymore, here's an incident number". The fact that their prints were all over the car plus the video didn't appear that it warranted investigating to the Police! This was in the Bush Fair area. Apparently its termed a 'victimless crime' 🤬😡
