Frontier Ladies 4 v 1 Leigh Ramblers

THE start of the game was a very scrappy affair both teams having half chances but neither side could say they were on top until the 41st minute when Frontiers got their passing together with movement going from the back into to midfielder Tayla Handscomb whose through ball found Lauren Yeats who slotted the ball past the keeper to score her first goal for the club since signing in the summer 1-0.

It wouldn’t take long for the visitors to be on level terms when a soft free kick was given and floated into the box only for the home side to fail to clear their lines and it land at the feet of Leigh’s striker who’s shot gave keeper Jill Bartholomew no chance.

Half time 1-1

Second half was much like the first not much happening until the 70th minute when Emily Bruton’s cross field ball over the top of the defence to find Ella Fobbester and shot on the half turn beat the keeper to make it 2-1, now comfortably in charge of the game and looking very dangerous it only took 5 more minutes for Ella Fobbester to get her second and Frontiers 3rd when Jackie Day’s pin point pass found the run of Ella who would round the keeper and finish into a empty net, 3-1

The win was sealed in the 86th minute when Tayla Handscombs driving run into the box to link up with Bilge Taspinar with a neat 1-2 for Tayla to place the ball past the on rushing keeper.
