Athletics: Harlow runners take part in Remembrance Runs across the county

HARLOW Running and Tri Club were represented at the Stebbing Remembrance Day 10 mile race on Sunday Morning where the Ladies outshone the Men. First home for HRTC was Catherine Ridge finishing in 80th place out of 420 finishers in an excellent 1hr 14min 42sec. She was followed by Sandra Rust in 127th place and 3rd Female Vet 50 in 1.19.47 and Linda Helm-Manley was 142nd in a PB time of 1.21.01. Gary Mead was 165th in 1.23.56, Tracy Stratford 169th in 1.24.34, Colin Moody 180th and 1st Male Vet 70 in 1.25.24, Pasquale Pellecchia 323rd in 1.37.56 and Debbie Mead 389th in 1.47.12.
Meanwhile, at the 10k Remembrance Run at Carver Barracks, Saffron Walden, Jermaine Shand finished in 14th place out of 162 finishers in a superb PB time of 42.06, Emma Luck was 65th in 54.09, Paul Smith 67th in 54.17 in his debut at the distance, Melissa Rowlands 75th in 56.12(PB), Kerry Pugsley 76th in 56.12, Deborah Pomphret 83rd in 57.55 and Alan Godbold 159th in 1.22.50.
At the same event in the 5k race Tom Beales finished in 6th place out of 98 finishers in 18.45(PB), Chris Mella was 12th in 19.48(PB), Terri Wiley 13th and 2nd Female in 20.03, Ben Usher 22nd in 21.26, Paige Bircham 26th in 22.20, Cyril Cornillet 52nd in 28.27 and Colin Langbridge 59th in 29.39.
At the QE Olympic Park 10k Richard Thornton finished in 47th place out of 451 finishers and 1st Male Vet 55 in 44.03 and Natalie Thornton was 206th in 53.54 in her debut at the distance.
At the Springfield Striders 10 mile Self Navigating Trail race Iain Bulloch finished in 17th place out of 48 finishers in 1.43.31.
Laura Prime completed the Remembrance Trail Marathon at Brandon Country Park, Suffolk, in 14th place out of 35 finishers in 4.48.26.
At the Dorney Lake Sprint Duathlon (5k run, 19k bike, 2.5k run) Jamie Olsen Ferreira finished in 43rd place out of 96 finishers in a PB time of 1.22.55.
There was a 5k PB from Robert Cochrane at Harlow Parkrun where he finished in 48th place out of 230 finishers in 24.41.
Well done Pasquale, after all the health problems that's a great come back run.
