Boris Johnson’s flagship hospital scheme mired in delays, watchdog finds

BORIS Johnson’s flagship hospital building programme and three levelling up funds are mired in delays and unlikely to deliver on time, two highly critical reports by parliamentary watchdogs have found reports The Guardian.
In a sobering verdict on the former prime minister’s promise to build 40 hospitals by 2030, the public accounts committee said it had “no confidence” that even the new target of 32 would be delivered by that date.
The cross-party committee of MPs said “very little has happened from the perspective of patients” since the programme was announced and called on the Department of Health and Social Care (DHSC) to urgently examine how new hospital building programmes would bring “tangible results for patients”. It also warned there was a risk that future hospitals were being designed to be too small.

Still, on the bright side, no new hospital means Robert Halfon gets to claim, yet again in the run up to the next election, that he has secured a new hospital for Harlow.
Now that we have Public Health England's state-of-the-art headquarters in the town, a World Class Hospital, would be the Cherry on the Cake!
Are we shocked? Are we surprised?? Nope. The former PM was without any doubt one of the biggest falsifiers of truth that this country has ever known!
Why not build a hospital extension on the PHE site at the Pinnacles, as nothing is likely to happen now with PHE in Harlow.
Well, I am certainly shocked! And surprised! Boris Johnson said that there would be 40 completely new hospitals, so there would be 40 completely new hospitals. After all, Boris is completely honest and has never, ever, lied about anything ever. At least that must be why he was voted into office. He never lied to any former wives or lovers, never lied about Brexit (I'm sure we're getting the £350M a week to the NHS any day now), was never, ever sacked for lying about anything. He never lied about having boozy parties during lockdown, and even if he did, I'm sure RH would give him one last chance, several times. Just because the great Boris would deserve all the one-last-chances he could get. All those who voted for Boris on the basis of 40 new hospitals, or "get Brexit done", or any of the many, many other lies he told deserve what they have got. We all lost, I get it, now get over it and taker responsibility for your actions.
What a shambles this is Mr Halfon? Really.. do the decent thing and just go… resign! Your lot are now recycling failed former leaders through the back door .. this is beyond a joke.. for goodness sakes put us out of your misery and Go!! It’s embarrassing..
A bigger hospital means more staff and they can't staff the current one.
