Football / Fri 17th Nov 2023 at 11:15am

ON Sunday Frontiers Ladies headed to Chelmsford where it was top vs second.

After a delay waiting for the referee to arrive, the game got underway and it was to be Chelmsford who were on the front foot for the majority of the first half but couldn’t break the dead lock which was a credit to their defensive unit.

Half time 0-0.

Second half, they found themselves more in the game and still holding the home side at bay thanks to a string of top class saves from Jill Bartholomew.

However, it was the home side who got the only goal of the game and it took something special with a shot into the top corner of the goal from out side the box.

Now behind Frontiers pushed for a equaliser but couldn’t find it.

Final score Chelmsford 1 – 0 Frontiers

After the game manager Ronnie Yates said: “We couldn’t be more proud of the girls today up against a strong Chelmsford city side they gave it their all and kept fighting until the final whistle but just couldn’t get a goal to give us a point which I think we thoroughly deserved.

“We will learn from today and definitely come back stronger. The togetherness in the group is superb all in it together and will do anything for each other and we couldn’t ask any more than that.

Sunday managers and captains player of the match was Jill Bartholomew
