Thurlow League Division South

Harlow Town 1 v 1 Cannons Wood

HARLOW Town came from behind to grab a point in an entertaining Boxing Day match at the Pardus Wealth Arena.

Harlow weathered an early storm against a strong Cannons Wood side and as the half progressed started to dominate.

Jack Zielinksi looked full of running but the Cannons Wood defenders stuck to their tasks.

A number of Harlow attacks in the first half were foiled by the impressive keeper Bradley Davison.

There were no obvious chances for Harlow and you had the feeling that Cannons Wood may need just the one chance.

And so it was in the 55th minute when Harry Brown met a superb cross to nod the ball home from close range.

But Harlow kept going. This was very much a team performance but Alfie Attrill impressed in midfield as he kept linking up with the attack.

Harlow were using both flanks and showing great invention but couldn’t carve out a clear chance.

The equaliser came in the 66th minute when Junior Dadson put in a great cross from the left and Arley Barker headed the ball down and into the Cannons Wood net.

Harlow did press on for the draw but it just wasn’t quite happening. Again, praise must go to the Cannons Wood defence that kept to their task with great discipline.

In the end the teams shared the spoils which felt like a fair result.

The result leaves Harlow in fourth place, seven points off the top.

They return to league action on Saturday December 30th away at Hutton.
