Frontiers Ladies 3 v 1 Hutton Reserves

AFTER last Sundays cup victory, it was back to league action as we hosted Hutton Reserves on a cold windy afternoon at Church Langley.

Frontiers started exceptionally quickly and created some good chances early on but were unable to make any count and it took till the 35th minute when Kelly Holsworth picked up the ball deep in our own half and pinged a pin point passed to the feet of forward Ella Fobbester who flicked the ball over the defender and passed the ball into the bottom corner of the net, 1-0.

Like London buses, their second came along shortly after on the 40th minute where again Ella Fobbester would find herself running through 1 on 1 with the visitors keeper after a well weighted ball over the defence, she slotted the ball past the on rushing keeper to make it  2-0 and would stay that that way till half time.

Second half started much the same as the first finished with Frontiers on the front foot and in the 53rd minute Lauren Yeats picked up the ball in the middle of the park and played a through ball into the attacking third where a cheeky back heel from Bee Taspinar found Katie Williams open in plenty of space would take a couple of touches taking her into the box and calmly fire the ball past Huttons Keeper to make it 3-0.

All credit to Hutton, when the ball wasn’t cleared, they would take advantage and get themselves a goal with half hour still to play, 3-1.

Hutton were now on a charge after scoring. This saw Frontier’s defence have to absorb a bit of pressure with they stood up to the task and the game would finish Frontiers 3-1 Hutton Reserves.

After the game manager Ronnie Yates said: “He was pleased with the performance and it was an improvement on last week’s game which we asked the Ladies for.

“Still lots to work on but definitely moving in the right direction moving into the business end of the season”.

Players of the match were Jackie Day and Charley Sheridan

The Ladies are at home again next week in county trophy action as we take on Southminster
