Police impose special powers after series of violent incidents across Harlow

Crime / Wed 24th Jan 2024 at 10:45pm

A SECTION 60 order will be enforced overnight in Harlow following criminal reports including incidents of violence this evening (24 January).

In order to protect the public, officers have enforced a Section 60 order, increasing powers to stop and search individuals within a specific area.

The order will be enforced within the area displayed in the map and is in place until 9.20pm on Thursday (25 January).

The public are asked to continue to report any criminality or anti-social behaviour to us.

Chief Inspector Paul Austin, Harlow district commander, said: “You will notice an increased police presence in Harlow tonight as my officers continue their efforts to keep the community safe.

“This follows a number of reports including several incidents of violence.

“These orders are a useful tool which can enable us to effectively monitor areas of concern and prevent any further disorder where issues arise.

“We are here to help you, so I would continue to urge residents in Harlow to report any suspicious activity to us.

“I would also like to reassure residents that we are doing all we can to prevent any further offences from taking place.”

Waiting to be culturally enriched with all those asylum seekers moving into our town. More doctors and nurses must be a good thing…..

Probably due to the soft sentences they would receive, like 100 lines , I must not be naughty.

This is one of the strangest and most concerning things I have ever seen in Harlow. We need to be told what on earth has caused such a situation.

From a pervious your harlow article harlow is the 2nd most dangerous large town in Essex and 21st in the UK. I think we can all assume that depressing statistic will continue to rise with the increase in major cities offloading their problems onto Harlow. It's very obvious to long term residents that the tone of the town has completely changed. Why are so many young men allowed to ride at speed around the town on illegal e-bikes and e-scooters, head to toe in black wearing hoodies, full face masks and goggles. We are heading full speed in a direction that is deeply unpleasant.

What a great idea - take a generation of kids with no future who already feel they have nothing to lose, and teach them how to kill professionally.
