RESIDENTS and businesses from across the whole of Harlow district are invited to find out more about crime and community safety in the district at a public meeting hosted by Roger Hirst, Police, Fire and Crime Commissioner for Essex.

Attendees will also have the opportunity to put their questions and concerns to a panel of experts which will include Roger Hirst, PFCC for Essex, Chief Inspector Paul Austin of Essex Police, Harlow district Commander, and senior representatives from Essex County Fire and Rescue Services and Harlow Community Safety Partnership.

The meeting will take place at place at the Moot House, The Stow, Harlow, CM20 3AG on Monday 4th March, 2024, from 7pm to 8pm.

All people who live and work in the Harlow district are invited to attend.

Roger Hirst said: “Our public meetings are a great way to hear directly from local communities about any concerns they might have or issues they are experiencing.”

“The meetings are also a great opportunity for us to brief residents on how we are working together with a range of partners to achieve the priorities in both our Police and Crime Plan and Fire and Rescue Plan.

“We will be updating attendees on the work being done around speeding motorists and extra investment in tackling anti-social behaviour in towns.

“Essex County Fire and Rescue Service will also be able to provide updates on their work in the area including the excellent prevention work they are doing to reduce the risk of harm.”

Attendees at the meeting can also learn more about current crime initiatives in the Harlow policing district.

Maybe the police management should put on their uniforms and take a stroll around some of the towns hot spots for that hour instead. They would then SEE what’s going on. That is of course if this is not another pointless PR exercise to tick a box.
