ACL Essex / Tue 5th Mar 2024 at 08:57am

TO help people enter employment, change career, or advance in their current job, ACL Essex is launching Skills Bootcamps. These free, flexible courses will last for 12 weeks and will give people the opportunity to develop valuable sector-specific skills.

ACL Essex’s bootcamp courses are focused on three employment sectors – digital marketing, project management for construction and early years.

The courses:

Digital Marketing: participants will learn how to define, design, build and implement digital marketing campaigns across various online and social media platforms.

Project Management for Construction: providing participants with the necessary knowledge and skills to effectively manage projects, including initiating a project, project planning, and delivery.

Early Years: participants will gain a solid foundation in safeguarding, supporting children with special education needs and child development in theory and practice.

Skills Bootcamp participants can be employed, unemployed or self-employed and must be able to study at Level 3 and above.  On completion of the course, learners will be guaranteed an interview for a job or an apprenticeship and will be supported to find a new job or progression upon completion.

Councillor Tony Ball, Essex County Council’s Cabinet Member for Education Excellence, Lifelong Learning and Employability, said:

“ACL Essex’s new Skills Bootcamps are the perfect opportunity to develop sector-specific skills. In just 12 weeks you can gain a qualification and learn from experienced tutors. Learners can then use these skills to develop their business, progress in their current job or enter a new career!

“This is a great chance to enhance your career prospects. I’d advise anyone looking to move up the career ladder to contact their local ACL Essex centre to see what they can do for you.”

Skills Bootcamps at ACL Essex are now available. To be eligible for the course, learners must be 19 or over. They must also have the right to work in the UK, live in Essex and meet residency requirements. Participation on a Skills Bootcamp is free and there could be support for learners to complete their programmes, such as laptop loan.
