Young people invited to shape SEND support in Essex

Education: Secondary / Sun 10th Mar 2024 at 07:57am

THE Essex Local Offer website recommends expert help and services for children and young people up to the age of 25 with SEND.

As well as support with education, health and wellbeing, the Essex Local Offer also provides information on finances, employment and things to do.

Essex County Council wants to improve the Local Offer for young people across Essex.

To do this, the council has created a short online survey for young people to take part in. This will help the council understand:

  • what information they would like to see include on the website
  • what type of content they like – for example video or wikis
  • what they want to use the Local Offer for

Councillor Tony Ball, Cabinet Member for Education Excellence, Lifelong Learning and Employability, said: “This survey will help us shape the support we have available to young people with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities in Essex.

“It should take no longer than 10 mins to complete. There really are no wrong or right answers and your feedback will make a real difference to the Essex Local Offer going forward.”

The survey is for young people only. Parents and carers can give feedback on the Essex Local Offer by emailing [email protected].

Take part in the short survey.
