Football / Tue 9th Apr 2024 at 08:06am

A super busy Sunday (7th April) for Innovation Multisport, from 5k to marathon distance, members took part in various events.

The new Couch to 5k Course started last week and on Sunday saw the new members Franca, Liz, Helen and Laura along with regular club members Sue, Pat, Alison, Nik and Tonya who want to get back on track with their running complete week 1. Well done ladies!

Over the other side of Harlow in Hastingwood lots of members were running at the local 10k road race organised by St Clare Hospice to raise money for the local charity. A sea of pink ran through the country lanes in the sun and storm kathleen with Andrew Kitson pacing and Karen Kitson volunteering to be the back walker, which helped towards her training for MacMillan Hikes later on in the year in Cromer. Lots of great results by everyone!

London Landmarks is an iconic half marathon and 5 members ran through the streets of London. Louise Peacock and Simon Jones were using it as their last long training run before The London Marathon in 2 weeks time. All ran fantastically well and proudly showed off their medals!

Finally all the way down south, Alan Shead and Kelly Burgess were taking part in the ABP Southampton Marathon, a 2 lap course around the city, through Southampton Stadium, over Itchen Bridge four times and past the universities. Kelly was running her 60th marathon overall and was supporting fellow club member as he attempted to get a personal best. With all the training and hard work done, they wasn’t expecting the high winds and hills, but they finished across the line together, And Alan achieved a PB by 10 minutes on a much tougher course than his previous marathon.
