Arrests following series of burglaries in Spencers Croft

A JUVENILE has been arrested on suspicion of several offences following reports of burglaries and attempted burglaries in Harlow.

Police first received reports of an attempted burglary in Spencers Croft at about 1.40am this morning, Thursday 25 April, when the resident of a property found suspects in their home with them having forced entry through the front door.

They then received a further report of a burglary and the theft of a car from another property in Spencers Croft at about 2.25am.

The  stolen vehicle was located by Metropolitan Police officers and, after a pursuit, was brought to a safe stop.

The driver of the car, a 16-year-old boy, was arrested on suspicion of burglary, attempted burglary and failing to stop for police.

He remains in custody and our enquiries are continuing.

Detective Inspector Karen Knibbs said: “Our officers are glad to be able to return the car involved to its rightful owner, and continue to work on this investigation.

“We would appeal to any residents of Spencers Croft or surrounding streets who have not already spoken to my officers to review any CCTV or doorbell footage, and to contact us if they see anything suspicious, quoting incident number 76 of Thursday 25 April.

“We would like to thank the Metropolitan Police officers that  who supported us in detaining this driver, as well as all the members of the public that reported these offences last night.”

Sounds like the ones doing Primrose Field on 23rd at 03:50am who stole a van by trying everyones front door until they found one that opens and stealing the keys.

I wonder if it’s the same little scumbag who tried to get into my house in longbanks 3 weeks ago! Should have their hands chopped off….!!!

I am glade i called the police my front door needs replacing now. Good job essex police hope you get the other two
