Police appeal after properties targeted in Primrose Field

Crime / Thu 2nd May 2024 at 06:26am

ESSEX Police are appealing for anyone with information or doorbell footage to come forward after several burglaries in Harlow and Ongar.

These incidents were reported to have taken place in the early hours of this morning (Wednesday 1 May), between 1am and 3am.

Properties were targeted in the Primrose Field area of Harlow, and in Cripsey Avenue, Ongar.

Two reports involved suspects trying door handles before leaving the scene, while three others involved entry being forced to properties.

Officers attended and are liaising with the victims, making one arrest in the early hours of this morning.

An 18-year-old man, from Basildon, remains in custody for questioning on suspicion of burglary.

Detective Inspector Karen Knibbs said:

“We believe these incidents relate to a single group of suspects travelling through the area in a black BMW at the time of these reports.

“Our enquiries are progressing and we take all reports of burglary very seriously.

“We need anyone within these areas of Harlow and Ongar to check their doorbell or dashcam footage from around this time, to see if there is anything there which may assist us.

“Any piece of information, no matter how small, could help us.”

We need anyone with information, or footage, which could assist our enquiries to come forward.
