Athletics: Harlow Running and Tri-Club complete Ride London 100

Athletics / Thu 30th May 2024 at 10:08am

OVER the Bank Holiday weekend, Harlow Running & Tri Club celebrated the incredible achievements of 17 club members who  participated in the Ride London 100 event on Sunday.

This cycling extravaganza took them from London into the picturesque Essex countryside and back again.

Their Ride London athletes included Cyril Cornillet, Ben Fowler, Vicky Steadman, Natalie Thornton, Anna & Michael Robyn, Gail Nicholls, TJ Rowlands, Ella Wagner, Dom Emery, Sue Rielly, Jane Evans, Michelle Hyde, Steve Warren, Emma Luck, James Catton and Sandie Rust.

We also had a big team of HRTC volunteers assisting with the event at the Felsted Welfare stop just over the half way point.

But that’s not all! Four of our dedicated ladies also earned themselves a coveted London Classics medal, having completed the London Marathon, a 2-mile swim in the Serpentine, and this 100-mile cycle ride. Talk about dedication and commitment! Well done Ella, Sandie, Natalie & Emma

The enthusiasm didn’t stop there either. The following day on Bank Holiday Monday, six of these cyclists (Gail, Sue, Ella, Dom, Natalie & Jane) also took part in the Hatfield Broad Oak 10k alongside a large contingent of HRTC members.

It’s awe-inspiring to see such passion and dedication to sports, and we’re proud of every member of Harlow Running & Tri Club for their achievements over the weekend including Jack Wood who completed his first ever Ultra (100k) from London to Brighton.
