Vandalism in The Stow: Four teenagers no longer on bail

LAST month we reported on four teenagers who had been arrested following a series of vandalisms in The Stow.

Here is the update:

An Essex Police spokesperson said: “The four teenagers are no longer on bail, but remain released under investigation”

The original story.

FOUR teenagers have been arrested following a series of burglaries and criminal damage in Harlow.

Three schools and two shops in The Stow were targeted with footage shared on social media.

The teenagers have been released on bail and cannot be named because of their ages.

Harlow’s District Commander, Chief Inspector Paul Austin, said:

“The team and I here at Harlow are absolutely dedicated to tackling this sort of behaviour, making swift arrests and identifying those responsible so that we can have a safer Harlow for everyone.”

Ch Insp Austin has also asked for anyone with additional information about the offending to contact the force via 101.

Well, Mr Paul Austin you talk about a safer Harlow but what about the the dog attack that happened at Sumner's paddling pool from a staffie that ripped a little tiny white dog apart! What's happening regarding that as that dog is still being taken out by this boy or he's sister who can not control it & you know who & what I'm talking about. I take it that aggressive dog is also not on BAIL even though you have said you are gathering information & have proof of the damage to the poor dog & it's owner from vets & of hospital owner was in of this vicious attack for the CPS. THIS happened In the beginning of August it's now mid October & still this dog & owners are going about as if they & it have done nothing wrong. You say you are absolutely dedicated along with your team to tackle & make swift arrests to make Harlow a safer place "REALLY" then how about doing something about this aggressive vicious dog and the people who are suppose to be responsible & in control owners. I think your words are words of no action & everyone else has to live on the edge.

Someone, you are the reason why the streets are becoming more and more lawless. Yes we all did stuff when we were younger but we quickly changed and those who didn't went deeper down the hole of crime. An example must be set. Petty crime or not it is still crime. Otherwise you are just telling everyone to do what they want petty crime wise because it will go unpunished. Pathetic.

I wonder if public humiliation would have a greater effect on kids such as these instead of courts who seem unwilling or unable to offer corrective behaviour. Mind you, if we put stocks in Market square, we could finally get a decent footfall traffic there and the new market stalls would sell an awfull lot of fruit to throw said young ruffians and some old ones too. We could show it on tik tok too.

There has to be a useful deterrent or they'll keep doing it. Make it not worth doing. The government made an example of the demonstrators this summer and it stopped damned quickly. These events mentioned here are happening all over the country, week in, week out, and significantly affecting the lives of many thousands of people. I would suggest three strikes and then remanded in custody until the court hearing - then a significant sentence.

Sorry but you are acting like they stabbed or murdered some one. The are barely teens. And to be fair to youths of today when I was that age we had youth centres and clubs to go to so we weren't bored and acting like it. Further more you know nothing of these children's lives or worlds so before you throw stones consider your own glass houses. Maybe if they had more to do after school and weekends they may not do this and act out. Silly childless keyboard warriors you are the reason people commit suicide and things through Internet bullying. And you supposed adults are about one step from them evil people.
