AFTER a record-breaking summer, London Stansted and its on-site business partners will be looking to recruit staff for the winter and busy Christmas travel season next week.

Almost 40 companies will be attending the airport’s autumn job fair on October 23 from 10am to 2pm at the Radisson Blu Hotel.

Opportunities on offer include positions with MAG Stansted, Ryanair, Titan Airways, Border Force, Jet2.com, World Duty Free, Swissport and DHL.

More than 29 million passengers have travelled through the airport in the last 12 months, and that number is expected to grow as passengers continue to take advantage of the airport’s industry leading choice, value and efficiency.

Jennifer Crossling, London Stansted’s Senior Education and Employment Manager, said:

“London Stansted Airport is a key catalyst for growth and jobs in the East of England and the UK, employing more than 12,000 people across 200 on-airport companies.

Staff from the airport’s Education and Skills Academy will also be attending the event promoting its free pre-employment courses, including fully accredited training schemes for those on job seekers allowance, or those who require additional support before applying for jobs.

After attending an airport job fair recently, Jonathan Randall from Colchester enrolled on one of the Academy’s courses. He is now employed by MAG as a Customer Support Agent after successfully completing the course. Jonathan said:

“I am thrilled to join the team at MAG as a Customer Support Agent. The job fair and academy course provided me with invaluable insights and skills that have prepared me well for this role”.
