A ROYDON man is facing an extradition battle with US authorities after he skipped bail following a road traffic collision in New York State.

Your Harlow reported the incident back in July 2022.

Orangetown Police said Thomas Robb, then aged 20, was driving the wrong way in a southerly direction on a one-way section of Greenbush Road in Blauvelt, New York State.

According to reports, the vehicle entered the intersection of Route 303 and struck a 2017 Chevrolet Cruze. The Chevy subsequently collided with a 2021 Dodge Challenger.

Two brothers, aged six and seven, were rushed to hospital for emergency treatment. One suffered a severe head injury.

The youngsters were in a Chevrolet Cruze driven by their mum Jacqueline Pachay, 34, which was allegedly struck by Robb’s vehicle.

All occupants were transported to local hospitals with varying degrees of injury. Police said boys, ages six and seven, were listed in a critical condition.

Robb was charged with assault, leaving the scene of an incident with serious physical injury, reckless endangerment, and reckless driving.

He was released on £19,000 bail. However, Robb failed to show up at court a week later and a warrant was issued for his arrest.

The Sunday Express has learned that Robb allegedly used the passport of one of his triplet brothers to return home.

He was eventually arrested at a private health clinic in Chigwell in May, 21 months after his escape. Robb, currently in custody in Wandsworth, was due to appear at Westminster Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday, with a full extradition hearing set for November.

According to court documents, he is accused of driving “a BMW motor vehicle dangerously on a road, causing serious injury to other persons”.

If extradited, he is set to face a string of charges including assault, leaving the scene of an incident with serious physical injury, reckless endangerment and reckless driving.

According to the Sunday Express, his lawyer Karen Todner said: “Thomas is absolutely traumatised by what’s happened.

“He was on holiday abroad without his parents for the first time and simply made the mistake of driving on the wrong side of the road with terrible consequences. He is extremely remorseful.”

British triplet who allegedly used a brother’s passport to try to escape prosecution for a multiple car crash which left two children with critical injuries is facing extradition to the US.

Another car was also involved in the horror smash which reportedly left at least four other people injured. Landscape gardener Robb was said to be in the car with one of his brothers and two cousins. According to his lawyer, Robb insists he had no idea he had caused any injuries at the time he fled the scene with his other passengers.

Are they kidding, not long ago an American woman killed a young British man hitting him on his bike while she was on the wrong side of the road, she fled and wouldn’t return, why should he!

Exactly what Wayne Buckland said. This young man is in custody in the UK and Anne Sacoolas is living freely in the USA after killing someone and fleeing before a police investigation could even take place. Outrageous double standards here.

Wayne, in my best Joss Ackland voice, "Diplomatic Immunity!". Though I think it turned out in the end she didn't officially have it, think her husband did.
