Travel Alert: Gridlock across the east of Harlow

News / Wed 20th Nov 2024 at 08:21am

Update: 0915 hrs: Traffic now flowing much more smoothly

THERE is gridlock across the east of Harlow this morning.

It looks like it is a consequence of a collision at Junction 7 on the M11.

Traffic on the A414 is tailing back to behind Church Langley.

Traffic hoping to take a “shortcut” through Potter Street is also tailing back form the Miller and Carter to the Clock Tower roundabout.

East Harlow is a complete joke for traffic every morning. Newhall lane going up to st marks with the 1 way priority and cross roads coming out of newhall needs to be updated. Simply doesn’t work

Can the council do something to stop cars on Church Langley Way cutting across the grass and joining the Old London Road by the allotments?

Just wait until the 14 roundabouts have traffic lights, which will give priority to Pedestrians, Cyclists, Buses, and Taxis while you sit and wait. Getting around Harlow will be horrendous. see https://www.roysharlow.co.uk/map2.html Cars and H.G.V. will have a nightmare, but some buses might run on time. You in the East of Harlow voted for those in charge.

Just been reading that although it was the Southbound Carriageway where the problem was, the Northbound Carriageway was having traffic backing up due to onlookers slowing down to see the accident. Getting sick of hearing about these onlookers who must be sick in the head to slow down and look at someone else's misfortune. They should not be on the road, as they make things 50 times worse. Massive fines should be introduced for these idiots.

Might Wicker high screens erected along the length of the entire length of the central reservation solve rubbernecking and more importantly provide an additional crash barrier and eliminate drivers being dazzled at night?
