Harlow man jailed for breaching Sexual Harm Prevention Order

A HARLOW man has been jailed for breaking a Sexual Harm Prevention Order (SHPO).

Steven Broad, aged 29, of Stile Croft,, Harlow pled guilty to the following at Chelmsford magistrates court.

Between April 1st, 2023 and July 29th, 2023 at Harlow without reasonable excuse, did something, namely, deleted an application, namely Snapchat, from your internet enabled mobile phone, which you were prohibited from doing by a sexual harm prevention order made under section 103A of the Sexual Offences Act 2003 by Chelmsford Crown Court on 12th July 2022.

On April 14th, 2024, at Harlow, without reasonable excuse,  did something, namely, deleted your internet history from your mobile phone, which you were prohibited from doing by a sexual harm prevention order made under section 103A  of the Sexual Offences Act 2003 by Chelmsford Crown Court on 12th July 2022.

Broad was given an eight month prison sentence.

The judgement stated: that the reason for custody was: The defendant’s previous convictions demonstrate non compliance with all orders designed to protect others from sexual harm from the defendant.

The first offence in time was committed very shortly after he completed a Community Order imposed for a previous like offence.
