Harlow woman accused of £15,000 fraud

A HARLOW woman is set to stand trial over an allegation she defrauded a man of over £15,000.
Jenny Taggart, aged 42, of Longfield, Harlow has been charged with the following.
Between September 1st 2020 and August 31st 2021, stole credit balances totalling £15,095.31 belonging to another.
Between June 1st, 2021 and December 11th 2023 dishonestly made to another, a series of representations which were and which she knew were or might be untrue or misleading, namely –
1. She needed money to fund the transfer of her mother from retirement home to another,
2. She stood to inherit a house in Florida, USA, which she intended to sell, and
3. It was her present intention to repay the money that he had lent to her,
intending thereby to make a gain for herself or another.
A trial date of January 14th, 2025 at Chelmsford Crown Court has been set.
Taggart has been released on unconditional bail.
They talk about fraud maybe the police should look into someone paying for a funeral with the dead man’s bank card then cancelling the bank card
