RISDEN Wood Football Club have raised £854 for the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) ward at Princess Alexandra Hospital as part of a Christmas fundraiser.

The club used the money to buy sixteen baby bags containing: a teddy, muslins, vests, scratch mittens, chocolates and vouchers.

They also bought the amazing staff some chocolates, crisps, wine as well as a £100 voucher.
On Friday a selection of managers and players went into NICU to hand out the Christmas goodies to the delighted nurses.
Manager of Risden Wood Under 11 Rangers Chris Chisnell said: ‘The idea to raise the money initially came Lucy Collier, one of our Risden mums who works with the ward.
‘We initially wanted to raise £20 per team to buy the babies on the ward a little treat for Christmas.
‘We have a number of players at Risden Wood who have had siblings in the ward in the past, so this felt like a great cause to get behind.
‘To raise nearly £900 from across the various teams at Risden Wood is an incredible amount and we hope the presents that it bought bring a few smiles to the parents and staff at the NICU.
The club was represented by managers Chris Chivrall ( Under 11 Rangers) and Ryan Ricketts (Under 10 Hunters.
Players: Louis, George, Harry, Reggie, Parker and club treasurer Jackie Foster.
