Harlow’s Men Shed project makes fantastic progress

BACK in January of last year, we went to the new Men’s Shed on Rectory Field to see what plans the team had to develop what was a derelict changing room.

Fifteen months later, the team has made a amazing amount of progress.
We popped down to speak to David Baker, to not only discuss the progress but once again find out more about the philosophy behind the Men’s Shed.

Well done men
I wish projects like this, and Andy’s Man Club, every ounce of success
Excellent work. So important to have a men’s mental health club.
Men's health and well being, particularly the middle aged, is quite an under resourced group. The age group with the highest rate of suspected suicide is those aged 45 to 64. For those genuinely sleeping on the streets the biggest age group is 36-45. On prostate cancer the biggest group effected is middle aged men. It's projects such as these mens shed group's that tap into a group that were raised not to discuss what's going on physically or mentally with themselves. I hope more groups spring up and thank those groups in Harlow that have already opened their doors to such a need.
Very proud David & all Well done Love big Sis👍

Vital stuff.. being able to make things with your hands in good company is good for every aspect of your well being. I was a Prop maker and scenery builder since 1980 I'm retired now and fully support the importance of this project.
