Athletics: Medal success for school athletes at Essex Champs

THERE were a number of outstanding performances by local school athletes at the Essex Track and Field Championships in Chelmsford.
A team of 38 athletes made the journey to compete with top athletes across the county.
People across the country will tell you that Essex always has very high standards. Many who get into finals in Essex, would probably medal in other counties.

George Watkins: 1500 metre steeplechase: Inter Boys
Matilda Frith: Davenant: 1500 metres: Senior Girls
Harry Stockhill: Davenant: 3000 metres: Inter Boys
George Keene: Ongar Academy: 800 metres: Junior Boys
Silver Medals
Oscar Eaton: Roding Valley: 800 metres Inter Boys
Luca Nordern: Davenant: 1500 metres: Inter Boys
Tyreigh Simpson: St Mark’s: Long Jump: Junior Boys
Emily Stockhill: Davenant: Pole Vault: Junior Girls
Daniel Arnold: Davenant: 1500 metres: Inter Boys
Bronze Medals
Amber Higgs-Smith: West Hatch: Pole Vault: Inter Girls
Waiz Yasser: Chigwell: 100 metres: Inter Boys
Ben Tucker: Epping St Johns: 1500 metres: Inter Boys
