A ROYDON man was given a one-year jail sentence in a New York court after he was involved in a road traffic crash, where children were injured.

Thomas Robb, aged 23, from Sedge Green, Roydon, subsequently fled the country, using his twin’s passport before being extradited back to face justice.
However, as Robb had already served a year in jail, whilst waiting for proceedings to finish, he has been released.

Robb told the court.
“My remorse and shame has affected every part of me,”
“I don’t feel my younger, immature self handled the situation well enough then, and for that I am truly sorry.
“I pray everyday for guidance and the strength to behave differently moving forward.”
YH had followed the case since it happened in 2022 and has published a number of articles.
The initial crash was a lead item on television in New York State.
Full coverage of his case is below.
