Good allotments are not just about growing food. They are a special social and nowadays mental health retreat. I had the honour of knowing someone from an organic farm. Even though I have read a few books on fruit and vegetables.I learnt at an early age. So the interest in tinkering Is still active. I love growing vegetables from seed. And if I can collect the seeds for next year Even though this is not possible with hybrids. I have even given grafting a go.And had a success by mistake one day. But I was too frightened to eat the produce because of what I had grafted it too. It would be really interesting to hear peoples experiences and stories. I hope it goes to plan .We need to pass on the knowledge to people. Perhaps some one from a farm could write an article too.hugs.x

People alt to remember the second World War where allotments and home growing kept us alive. Allotments are not just a pastime they are part of the nations security.
