Crime / Thu 24th Jul 2025 at 01:36pm
DETECTIVES investigating incidents of violence and criminal damage following a protest in Epping last week need to speak to three men.
An investigation to identify those who caused disorder in the town is continuing.
Officers, supported by the Metropolitan Police Service and British Transport Police, faced significant hostility as they worked to keep people safe.
Following an initially peaceful protest on Thursday 17 July in Epping outside the Bell Hotel, a number of individuals, intent on causing trouble, escalated to committing acts of physical violence.
They damaged a number of police vehicles, threw projectiles at officers and injured eight police officers.
As part of our enquiries, we need to speak to:
Martin Peagram, 33, who has links to Stansted. He is 6ft in height, of slim build, with short brown hair and facial stubble.

Shaun Thompson, 37, who has links to Epping. He is 6ft 1ins in height, with short brown hair, of slim build.

Philip Curson, 52, no last known address. He is 5ft 8ins in height, of stocky build, with short brown hair and full tattoo sleeves on both arms, and tattoos covering the front of his neck.

As Hope not Hate stated in a press release from July 21, Philip Curson is a former member of Combat 18. Another reference to Curson is from Searchlight which said: in 2003 (Curson) was part of a gang jailed for a violent attack on two young men, one black, one Asian in Romford." People must look at the British population and think 'what an ugly, dirty bunch'.
