Police commissioners told mayors will replace them

THE government has formally told the police and crime commissioners (PCC) for Norfolk, Suffolk and Essex that their posts will be abolished in two years’ time reports the BBC.

Local Government Minister Jim McMahon and Policing Minister Dame Diana Johnson has told them that new elected mayors would take over their responsibilities.

Good more money for front staff hopefully
Most people do not even know who they are let alone what they do, or supposed to do.
Unfortunately, elected Mayor's come with back office staff and plenty of budget for their bureaucrats.
And it’s all paid for with higher council taxes
Well if anything like London mayor then we're in big trouble!!
This will not save money and as seen elsewhere Mayor's have politicised the police we need to let Chief Constables run police forces
