FROM Frontier Ladies Under 14s
Today our Lionesses played in the last 32 of the League Shield against Hitchen Belles from the division above.
And we ran out 4-0 winners
We were by far the best team throughout but let’s not take away they are a good side, in the division above us and playing well.
Myself and Jill spoke and said how dominant we were, but also how hard we worked offensively and defensively but more so for each of their teammates, the interchanging of positions without me or Jill telling them to do so was fantastic
Every single player, from GK to Striker had probably thier best game of the season.
First goal was from Scarlett, in the right place at right time, nicked the ball on the pen spot and poked it home.
Then Ella, shes struggled of late with confidence and fitness but today she put in a proper shift, worked hard and got a well deserved goal
Nicole chipped in with the 3rd, great long throw from Paige, Nicole anticipating that the keeper might not get it and slotted home from a couple of yards.
Then second half, we tasked the girls on being strict in defence and to keep a clean sheet…
And we again dominated play.
A 4th goal came from Darcy.
Knocked it past the defender, used her strength to push them off and got her shot away, keeper saved it but Darcy being a great striker followed it and got the rebound. Great goal
We created a lot of chances today, from a number of players which is really good.
Dominating performance from Maci in goal, another clean sheet and all the players deserved a player of the match award
And Scarlett’s corners are on
Players player was a tie between Paige and Syd, myself and Jill already deciding Paige was coaches player so Syd won out.
Her throws are a proper weapon, her passing is superb, her confidence on the ball is top drawer and she scares the life out of the attackers.
Coaches player was Paige.
For me and Jill it was by far her best ever performance.
Attacked when she could but always got back into defensive mode when needed, she worked so hard and a lot of our play came thru her…
Well done all, brilliant game….
That’s 30 goals this season, 4 more than we scored the whole of last season.
6 games.
4 wins
1 draw
1 lose
30 goals scored
5 goals conceded.
3 clean sheets.
