Interview with Head Boy and Head Girl at St Mark’s: Laying the foundations for the future

Education: Secondary / Tue 11th Nov 2025 at 03:33pm

ONE of the highlights of the St Mark’s Open Evening is the speeches by the Head Boy and Head Girl.

This year, Ben and Una both gave fascinating and contrasting speeches but both underlined how important the school was to them and how much support the school has given them.

On the eve of the Sixth Form Open Evening, we sat down with them to talk about sixth form life at the Tripton Road school.

How it has shaped them so far and is providing a road map for the future.

The school not only provides a map for university but also for apprenticeships, the world of work, and for life.

We always like to have a photograph taken next to the plaque with the first Headmaster, Mr Antony O’Shea MC MA. His ethos and his spirit lives on in pupils such as Ben and Una.
